After seeing all the rumours, the long-awaited OPPO Reno 5 Pro+ 5G has finally arrived today. Other than being the last device with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset for this year, the Reno 5 Pro+ also sports a Sony's high-end IMX766 image sensor. We bet that those tech specs have already gotten you drooling for this new smartphone.

Based on a statement by OPPO on their weibo, it seems that the upcoming OPPO Reno5 Pro Plus will come equipped with the IMX766 image sensor. But that’s not all, it seems that the aforementioned smartphone will be unveiled on 24 December 2020 based on OPPO’s post.

OPPO has revealed the look of the upcoming Reno 5 Pro+ 5G and the device will be arriving on 24 December. Before that happens, the device has now appeared on TENAA confirming its rumoured tech specs and even telling us some of the new ones. For a few weeks, we have been writing much about the OPPO Reno 5 series and OPPO just officially announced the released date for the phone. According to the poster, the OPPO Reno 5 Pro+ 5G will be revealed on 24 December 2020 just before Christmas. It should be the last Snapdragon 865 flagship of the year.

It seems that a statement by sina.com.cn, seems that the OPPO Reno5 series might feature “luminous materials” on the smartphone. While not much is known in regards to what exactly “luminous materials” mean, our source did mention that it could provide improvements in terms of facial recognition.

Before the Reno5 series arrives on 10 December, the official website of OPPO has posted up the images of the devices and some tech specs to give us a sneak peek. On the website, both OPPO Reno5 and Reno5 Pro have their first official appearance with glossy back design.

OPPO has always been working on their pacing with new smartphones and the Reno series is one of the focus of the company. OPPO launched back to back for the OPPO Reno 3 Series and the OPPO Reno 4 series this year. Today, we found a leak on GeekBench and TEENA listings for the OPPO Reno 5 series.

OPPO just released the OPPO Reno3 Pro on last May in Malaysia and suddenly we got ourselves a new series called the Reno 4 series for you. Coming in two variants - the vanilla Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro, they both cost RM1699 and RM2399 respectively. So is it worth the upgrade or worth buying the Reno4 Pro?

Earlier, rumour has come saying that the OPPO Reno4 series will be coming soon and we were so curious since the Reno3 series has only been launched earlier this month. However, OPPO has posted on Weibo today confirming that the Reno4 series will indeed be launched on 5 June in China with Reno4 and Reno4 Pro. This shows us that OPPO is trying to be different from others by launching smartphones in such a short time frame.

This morning, Celcom showed off the capabilities of the 5G network in their 5G live cluster field trial which was deployed not too long ago. During the demonstration, their network managed to hit speeds of up to 6Gbps with latency around hovering around the 10 milliseconds. Celcom also demonstrated different use cases that could benefit from the new 5G network such as security surveillance over 5G, and 5G home entertainment such as 4k game and movie streaming. The new network also supports 5G-to-5G VoLTE calls, as well as 5G-to-4G VoLTE high fidelity calls.
